The people holding the experience
Althea Lawton-Thompson is an intuitive holistic healer, spiritual teacher, international retreat leader, and experienced plant medicine facilitator with more than 30 years of experience in sacred healing. She has led more than 50 wellness and cultural retreats in 12 countries while studying alongside traditional healers throughout Central and South America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia. Her immersive training in traditional plant medicines includes years of ceremonial work with Ayahuasca/Yagé, Hapé, and Mapacho tobacco in South America, as well as initiation into the Missoko Bwiti Tradition in Gabon, Central Africa, where she was immersed in the sacred use of Iboga. These experiences have shaped an approach that honors ancestral healing traditions while maintaining the highest standards of safety, cultural respect, and participant care.
In addition to the Sacred Ayahuasca Healing Retreat, Althea partners with a Peruvian family to offer a 14-day Dieta and an Ayahuasca Conservation and Cooking Course. She has trained and certified hundreds of professionals in Reiki, yoga, meditation, plant medicine facilitation, and the healing arts. Blending clinical wellness practices with ancient spiritual traditions, she equips practitioners with the knowledge, confidence, and cultural understanding to serve others with integrity.
Moro José is a native of Panamá, Central America, and an experienced plant medicine facilitator who serves Ayahuasca/Yagé, Rapé, Yurema, and other traditional plant medicines for individuals and groups. Fluent in both Spanish and English, his work is grounded in traditional Indigenous knowledge, personal experience, and a deep respect for the diverse ways people connect with nature and the healing plants.
For more than a decade, he has studied alongside herbalists, traditional practitioners, and Indigenous communities throughout Central America, South America, the Caribbean, and the Amazon, expanding his understanding of ancestral healing traditions. His journey began in childhood under the guidance of his grandmother, who introduced him to home remedies, the healing properties of plants, and a lifelong relationship with nature that continues to shape his work today.
